Growth Hormone - Releasing Hormone

Purpose
To investigate somatotropic function via GH-RH or GH-RF or somatocrinin.

Subject preparation
Fasting for 12 hours and lying down for 30 minutes.

Product
GH-RH® Sanofi.

Dose
2 μg/kg of body weight.

Protocol
- Commence low-flow perfusion of saline solution 30 minutes before the challenge.
- Samples (dry tubes) at the time intervals: -15 min (T-15) and 0 (T0).
- IV perfusion of the correct dose of GH-RH.
- Draw blood (dry tubes) at the time intervals T+15, T+30, T+60 and T+120 min.

Side effects
Strict medical surveillance due to flushing.
